Chopped & Twisted Cooler Master Case Mod, “00 InfiniTiS 00″

Doug Gambor wanted to view his system and optical drives from one point of view, so he chopped and twisted his Cooler Master ATC’s bezel a full 90 degrees. He also fabricated a new back panel, so he could add ducting for the Corsair H70 radiator and relocate the  power supply to the bottom.

Progress of the twisted ATC 220b chassis. The entire system was later enclosed under a hinged window frame.

Doug – “It seems to me, it’s better to have the processor, video card, and hard drives separated as much as possible, for what I think think is better cooling.”

Doug’s customized grill looks like a Turbine jet Engine. It cover a 200mm Cooler Master Blue LED Fan.

The HD heat sinks are held down with two wing nuts on a solid 1/4″ aluminum backet. The walls and floor bolt directly to the drives. The unit is held in place with one huge custom made wing nut that bolts to the bottom of the case. I was worried about bolting it to the bottom of the case, but it is very easy. I dont have to tilt it much, and it is close to the front. Once the unit is flush with the back, it slides over to the thumb screw backet and bolts into place very easy every time. When that one bolt tightens, the unit is very secure.

“The name “InfiniTiS”.  I asked my wife Sally to help me choose a project name. She immedialy spit out the word “Infinty” she said thats how long it will take
me to finish it. Shes probably right, theres allways some kind of upgrade wanted. The “TiS” ending to the word was added in honor of our gaming squad,
“The Immortal Soldiers”= ^TiS^ made up of finest people found anywhere. Established in 1998.”

The “00 InfiniTiS 00″ PC was runner up in Cooler Master’s 2011 Case Mod Competition
