Progress on Ron L. Christainson’s scratch built “Biohazard” PC continues to impress everyone. Whats even more amazing is that it’s his first custom PC project. Inspired by Resident Evil, the project is being constructed from high impact polystyrene sheeting and various small science fiction model kits Ron found. Here is Ron’s most recent update from his YouTube Channel.
We asked Ron if he could answer some questions about his project.
CMB: When do you predict the project will be finished Ron?
I’m hoping to have the entire project finished up in the next few months.

Ron created the weathered and distressed exterior of the Biohazard plant with an airbrush.
CMB: What will the system specs be?
I’m thinking of the x-58 classified x4 sli and of course the new nvidia chip line. I’m not decided on the CPU just yet. With all the great hardware set to come out in the first quarter of this year my entire hardware configurations could change. I still have the back panel and roof to construct then add the hardware.

Ron’s scale model features are amazingly detailed.
CMB: What are your plans for Biohazard, Where will it go? in your office or living room?
I’ll probably put this in the office connected to my large flat panel display, but will consider selling it for right offer.
Here’s some pics of the small control panels that Ron constructed for the interior door frame of the new front panel.
CMB: After Biohazard is finished, do you have plans for another Epic build?
I have several ideas for another build and anxious to move on to my next project.
Ron’s ideas for future builds.
1) 3 ft tall imperial walker and install all the hardware within it’s body.
3) Space cruiser that would be suspended from the ceiling.
4) Moon base with moon rock at the base with impact craters.
5) Suitcase nuke. I’d use a large aluminum suite case and install a LCD panel within the lid and the hardware in the base and give it a really cool cold war look to it.
Where the magic has been transpiring, Ron’s studio.
CMB: Is there any words of advice you can share for other modders?
The best advice I could give anyone starting out is to do a ton of research, and learn what your skill levels are. Sketch down all your ideas and formulate your design plan then let your imagination do all the hard work for you. Case modding is like any art form, it takes passion , discipline , dedication and inspiration. Keep a budget in mind, materials and hardware can really get expensive. Learn from the best, read, watch and listen to the leaders in the industry.
We can’t wait to see which idea you create next! Thanks again for sharing your progress and advice. I recommend everyone check out Ron’s Blog for more photo and video updates at Blue Horse Studios
