| Painting fan hubs/blades. The center hub will be painted Testor's Metalizer Stainless Steel (buffing) This was the first time using this stuff. I came to conclusion you get equal results with less hassle using Duplicolor Chrome The fan blades will be painted to look Anodize Red. First sand surface with 400 grit sandpaper. Since the fans are plastic, I will use Duplicolor's Metalcast First apply Metalcast Groundcoat so plastic has a reflective surface. Then topcoat with Metalcast Red 1 -2 hrs later. Notice in photo how I painted fan blades. I simply cut a slit large enough to fit over blade and apply tape behind blade to shield off fan. |
